If you're like me you may be struggling with everyday aches and pains, constantly feeling hungry, and being tired most of the day. Typically, I try to take the easy way out and drink a couple  cold brew coffees to power through the day. This will work in the short term and it's a nice break to get away from my desk, go for a walk with a co-worker, and get my mind right.

I have been lifting weights, training, and trying to be more physically fit my whole life. I am one of those people who love to go to the gym and prefer to spend my free time after work or on the weekends grinding out a nice sweat at the gym.  I have learned that all people are not created equal when it comes to working out and going to the gym. Everybody has a different body type, fitness goals, and interests at the gym. I know my body and I know that I will never be able to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger no matter how much lifting I do. Are bananas bad when trying to lose weight?

Staying lean and in shape is somehting that is on the top of my list. Especially since "beach season" is coming to the north east.  I personally enjoy the challenge of working out and pushing myself to be better and stronger than the day before. However, I find myself having a difficult time eating the right food to reach my goals as I do like to give in to my cravings once in a while. 

Which brings me to my question - are bananas bad when trying to lose weight?

Excellent workout snack

I enjoy eating a banana on a daily basis since I am an active person. Bananas will give you the nutrition and carbs needed for a good before or after work out.  Pairing this with some peanut butter is also a good choice for a snack.

They are rich in fiber

Bananas also boosts your fiber intake, which can help you lose weight. Fiber will make you feel full which will also help with weight lossand trick your mind to help you not overeat.

Other ways to eat bananas

My favorite way to eat a banana is in my morning smoothie. I like to pair this with:

  1. Water or milk (depending on your calorie intake)
  2. Chocolate or Vanilla Whey protein
  3. A scoop of peanut butter

Not only will this taste delcisious but it will be a great snack to give your body the right carbs and protein needed to get you through your day.
